    Hi,

I keep seeing posts where it's mentioned the person has rang dell and have been able to get a cheaper price.

...How? ha...sorry if this is common knowledge but I have never ordered with Dell before - in fact I have always bought from stores.

Any info is appreciated. (I'm on Dell UK btw)

The people on the phones or at the kiosks want your business and have the right to "close the deal" and will often times give you a little incentive to buy from them, such as an additional $50 off or a free accessory. I think they are paid on commission so they will do whatever they need to to sell it to you through them. :)

Ahh OK that would explain it. How would I go about getting an "incentive" - be cunning and show a reluctance to purchase perhaps? hmm...Any ideas or past experiences that have worked well?

Yeah, basically tell them what you're looking for and when it's done, be hesitant. It'll depend greatly on how the sales structure works (I believe you're in the UK?) as they may or may not be on commission. It'll depend a great deal on who you're dealing with as well and what warranty option you're opting for.

I know calling in didn't help me at all. :p

I wish I had known that when you call in (from the US) your able to get up to $75 off your price. Damn! But whatever :D, I already saved $628 with coupon codes and such.

i think they are only allowed to "close the deal" if your pc is over 1600 though.
