Just wanted to let the other Canadians on here know that I talked with a Dell rep today about our lack of certain options regarding the 1520.

He said that our site will be updated "soon" with further options, BUT if you want to order now, you may get a Dell rep to customize the machine further for you. I asked if this applied to all options on the US Dell site, and he said "most". As I'm only interested in upgrading the processor from 1.8 to 2.0 ghz, I only asked about the price for this particular upgrade. He said $100 CAD.

So if you want to get not-yet-available customizations for your Canadian 1520, just hit the "live chat" while ordering or give them a call. Conversely if you'd like to get in touch with the same rep I used (I don't know if they get a commission or not, but he seemed interested in helping fix my order), you can PM me for his email.

I'm not sure if this applies to the 1420 or the 1720, but I would assume so

I had to do this as well, something you might want to watch out for, after I used this method to get an upgraded cpu, they instant online discount didn't apply anymore.

And why does Bluetooth cost $20 on the US site.. but a whopping $80 on the Canadian site??! C'mon.. the exchange rate isn't THAT high!
