    Hi all...

Has anyone had there e1705 replaced recently?

I called and complained about a hinge that basically exploded inside the plastic cover and complained about an overheating issue. They told me they would send a replacement. On my dell account page it shows:

    Inspiron 1720, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 800Mhz, 4M L2 Cache (Shipped)

you can see my original pc in my signature...

So am i really getting a 1720 (a better computer im guessing)?

Something doesnt seem right... i thought they sent out refurbs?

The processor's better, but the best GPU it could come with would be the 8600M GT, which I'm fairly certain is weaker than your current GPU.

Thank nvidia for releasing crappy cards this time around (sans 8800).

The 8600m GT has slightly lower raw performance than the Go 7900, though newer drivers may have made up for the small difference.

i havent updated my drivers since vista came out..(for my 7900) ive been using the standard one that came with windows since i cant seem to get anything else to work. (closing the lid, sleep problems) with most other drivers i try.

did nvidia just drop support for it or what? im going to be happy to no longer have that problem.
