Well when i was set on buying a dell one of the factors was price. I was convinced that i can get a loaded one for around $1300. However, when i was about to jump the gun the pricing suddenly changed. I became around $1900.

I turned my back at dell and went with another brand since the other brand was my original "envy" machine.

Today, the price went back to $1300. Do i regret not waiting? No. Do i hate dell laptops? No. I am quite happy for getting the machine ive always wanted even if I ended up paying 35% more.

I am just amazed how their eratic pricing made me go for another brand when so many have gotten dell because of it.

Im sure for most, coupons and discounts do good. I am just the rare ones who did the opposite.

My issue with Dell is their return policy. I liked what I read about the d620, but I also want a chance to SEE it, in the flesh, so to speak, and not be obligated to pay $250 or more if I decide I don't like the monitor, the keyboard, or whatever.

I even went to a Dell kiosk, only to find out they don't display their business laptops.

    Oh well...

Dell is one of the company's that I mostly see changing their prices all the time. Usually Dell does it at least once a week, to co-incided with their coupons.

I agree with you. Flip flop pricing, confusing discount. But we do have the advantage (return). You can call them for the lowest price you see. If not, you have 2 options:
    1. Cancel the order
    2. Return it if you already received your notebook and dell will offer you at least $300 off for not returning.

I agree but sometimes they have great deals just have to get the right coupons. New coupons come out almost everyday

Yep great deals. dells like a box of choc'late. its really a jungle out there w dell. One thing i dont like also is their my account page. It never works! I have saved config and were never able to get them again.

But hey i think the laptop world needs dell. My overpriced sony needs to calm down on the pricing a bit.

I hate that people are selling FREE coupons on ebay. Just seems so dirty. I've thought about setting up an auction on ebay and giving away the FREE coupon codes instead of duping less saavy internet users into paying over 2 dollars for them!

Dells adjusting prices are part of the way they market... some people like it, others dont... the key thing is if you dont like dells prices... wait a day or two... it will change.

The way to get the best deals around though is to buy from Dell when they have a deal... not when you need a machine RIGHT NOW. Often prices very hundreds of dollars depending on the deals... so dell is definitely a deal hunters place.
