There are business that buy Dell's in bulk with deals like the coupons and re-sell for profit. Me, personally, I wouldn't buy something like that off e-bay...but that is just me. I can't open link cause I am at work, but that is just my take. :)

I have heard some scams, but if it is legit I would do it. I would be cautious and trade some e-mails with them first :p

There are some nice deals on there. :p

Generally speaking, they are legit (just make sure their feedback is good). I have sold some laptops on eBay that I purchased with 40% coupons and made quite a nice profit.

    I got mine from ebay.

    Inspiron 6000
    2 ghz processor
    2 gb ram
    ATI x300
    100 gig harddrive (5400)
    15.4 WUXGA screen
    dvd burner
    bluetooth

Outside of the 7200 rpm hardrive, those are basically maxed out specs if done on Dell.com. There was no way I was getting the Dell price anywhere near the price I got on ebay.

Basically, look around ebay and keep comparing to the Dell deals.

Check the Dell Outlet for deals too. I've gotten tremendous deals there, and you get the same warranty as new units! Everything from the outlet (except the Scratch&Dents) are like new.

They might be legit, but they offer a no return policy. So if your computer sucks, that's that.

And also, try configuring the same one yourself on Dell's site. It often comes up cheaper buying directly from Dell(or at least that's how I've seen it)

Look at the specs closely. There always seems to be a cheap component in there that makes it cheaper and less desireable.

Well i did alot of research and wound up buying mine off ebay. I called to transfer the warranty. The man said it was a brand new unit sent out on 5-4-06 and i got it to my house on 5-18. I paid $850 to my door. I live in texas, so i would have also had to have paid sales tax. I am eligible for the extended warranties and everything. I am really happy with my ebay purchase. I got it from the cheapstore on ebay. Excellent feedback and over 300 transactions. I felt really good about it. By the way, love my dell so far. I got the truelife screen and wouldnt want another computer with out it.
