I have a question... How is it that there are so many sellers on Ebay selling "brand new" Dell computers? I thought Dell only sells direct. A lot of these Ebay deals look cheaper than what you can find on the Dell web site, I don't understand how they can sell them cheaper than Dell does. I've emailed several Ebay sellers about this and they never answer me.

Are the warranties on the computers just as good as if you bought directly from Dell?

Same thing with refurbished Dells, many people selling sealed, refurbished Dell computers on Ebay. Are these people buying directly from Dell at cheap prices and then selling them on Ebay for a higher price and making a profit?

The reason why you see so many cheap Dell notebooks on ebay is because a lot of sellers are Dell employees. They can get the notebook at employees discounts and sell them on ebay for a cheap price and make a little profit for themself. But be careful for a few of those dishonest sellers who just want to scam you and take your money.

you can just look at seller feedback to tell if somebody is honest or not on eBay. A lot of people will buy notebooks using coupons and then resell them for more to those who don't know about coupons. There are various methods.

The other thing is that many buyers are not educated about Dell sales. So people will take advantage of a great deal, get 10 machines and sell them all on eBay. Hang around here for a few weeks and you'll see all kinds of deals come through.

I wasn't actually going to buy one on Ebay, I was just curious about it. Bought my 700m Outrageous Deal on saturday for $750+tax+shipping. Now I just have to wait until Aug 17th to receive it. Funny thing is, I don't even need a laptop. Only bought it because I thought the price was too good to pass up.
