This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    yeah i know im in the notebook forums but my brother just built a pc, a pretty sick gaming machine, evga gforce 8800 and the evga mobo, the problem is it wont find a cd rom connected via IDE

    i even booted from a floppy and it still wont find the drive, i tried setting the pins in all 3 positions with nothing changing...


    faulty mobo?

    try the desktop hardware forum, or an evga message board, this has nothing to do with dell laptops
