    Did Dell just seriously downgrade their 25% off offer?

    Previously I could build a base model 1555 to $1149 and then apply the 25% off coupon and get it for $861 with a very nice set of specs.

    Now the coupon applies to, essentially, a BASE 1555 that STARTS at $1039. SO by the time I spec it out the same, the price is ~$1450 minus 25%.

    Anyone else noticing this? am I screwing something up?

    I want my beautiful $861 build back :)

    Dell always screws around with the prices... It makes you feel better when you save 25% but you really dont?
    Some sales are better than others. It's so hit and miss with Dell.

    I also had a 25% off coupon but the price is higher than it was before when I was configuring a vostro 1320, it seems that they give you a coupon and then jack the prices up :mad:

    This is why I hate and love DELL some times, literally last year at Christmas. I had Built my 1737 laptop. around $1,600 ish +/-

    I canceled it and all I changed was Windows 32-bit to Windows 64-bit.

    $1,300 magically, and free Fed EX Air overnight shipping.

    Ugh, I've seen this before frequently but it was NOTIFIED that their one deal ended and a new one began.

    Now, not so much. This deal was never going to expire until August 1st, but places that advertised it with a build that says "You can select X,Y, and Z and then discount it 25% and the price is $861 with XYZ build" are now all wrong. Their link sends you to a whole nuther ugly review.

    I'm actually considering dropping the extra money on an XPS 16 now....

    the XPS 16's are crazy awesome, they destroy anything by HP, Lenovo and Apple when you consider price, Bluray and RGB LED.

    I was in the same situation but still got to use the coupon since my sales rep saved the quote he gave me so i got to use it. I was also pissed that the coupon expired since it clearly said august 1st. The baseline price should have stayed at $599.

    The coupon clearly said 'August 1st' however, it also clearly said 'subject to change at any time'. I never expected that 25% to last until August 1st. Seriously? That was almost a month away and you think they were going to leave 25% off for that entire duration?

    If you wanted the 25% a week ago and you liked it, you really should have gotten it. There weren't going to be any better deals than that.
