After not being happy with the E1405 screen, the tech on the phone said he would send out another screen.
Anyway, the screen arrived today for me to install. However, its just a piece of metal with a screen. It has no dell badging, and no plastic cover so I can just swap do a straight swap of the screens...
Do Dell replacement screens normally come like this?

Yeah you have to take out the screen its self from yours, and put the new one in, then put the exterior dell edges and stuff that you origionally had around it.

I'm surprised they sent a screen to you. Normally, they are picky about things like that and insist on sending a tech or having you mail it in for repair.
Its not really that hard to change out the screens - basically alot of removing screws. The most difficult is trying to remove the bezel. Here is the guide on how to remove your screen (in case they didn't send you one):

Oh. Thanks guys! That really helped. Replaced the screen. They sent me a Samsung again !! I don't know if the new screen is any better. Are there only samsungs available as Í wanted to try an LG..
