What do you think? I just placed an order yesterday.
Did I get a good deal and a pretty decent system?
Has anyone else done better?

Some good parts but still a little expensive. But what do you expect, it's DELL. I would've gone for the HP dv9000t; it's much cheaper.
-
Did you use Dell Coupons?
-
No offense. you have some great upgrades for your dell, but i truely believe it is a bit too expensive.

I think this is the reason it cost what it did. All items are perfectly fine to have... -
i think its not a gud deal..bit too expensive,,and shedding around 2k $ for 1705..with these features is on the higher side...
-
As others have pointed out 2200+ for that spec is bit too much. I think you may not have utilized the on going $500 off coupon.
-
ok guys.. i tried the same config with the coupon and it comes out to be more that what i got it for. i cant find anyway to get it lower. the deal i got was by selecting the e1705 with 23% off (current promotion) and selecting the 7% additional off my order 3 year warranty bundle. plus an epp discount at work. note all the items in the list i am receiving) If i try to apply coupon 8L$HSH744B7N1F for 500 off when i do the 23% off system, it does not stack. it replaces. check it out.. if you can find the same config cheaper today, i would appriciate being able to see it on line... please let me know asap
thank you. i tried a bunch of times and cant get it any lower than this. -
You are stacking yourself with all those warranties plus supports, and I believe it is not absolutely necessary. Are you expecting your Dell to breaks down quiet often? Well, as far as my opinion goes, it is waste of money. I own a D620 for more than a year now; I have never had any problems with it.
-
its pricey due to the wwarranties and support chosen i presume
but for the price you could have gone for an XPS m1710 but thats just what i think
cheers, -
no you've got it all wrong.. i *must* have at least 2 or 3 year accidental coverage. i dont care about the tech support or onsite crap... with that said, its actually CHEAPER for me to get the bundle that includes all that extra stuff, because they knock off 7% off the total of the system. plus i get epp discount and what they did was beat the price of what it would cost if I used the 500 off coupon code.... which brought it to 2289.20.. with free overnight. otherwise if i just select the 3 yr warranty with accidental coverage, its a few dollars more and i get less. go configure a system you will see...
-
for that money i could get two E1705 with 1 yr warranty...
-
You must have the extended warranty? Well, if it makes you feel better and you have the money. Go for it! I guess you plan to travel a lot with your notebook huh, then why don’t you consider D630 or D830? They are more durable, and you won’t break it as often as 1705.
-
I think it's a fair price for all the items you've chosen. Like LeeC81 said, if you need that *extra* protection, then order it!
I chose the basic 1 yr warranty, and I can live with that. -

MY XPS m2010 w/ 3 year onsite and similar features costed about the same..
Of course, mine starts at $2999 while an E1705 starts at... $699 or something?
