Just pulled the trigger on this.. Not sure if I should keep it or not?
Dell Inspiron E1705
WinXP MCE
512MB RAM (upgrade myself)
60GB 5400 RPM SATA Drive (upgrade later myself)
17" WXGA Standard Screen
Nvidia Geforce Go 7800 (main reason)
etc. etc. etc.
Ordered through the Dell EPP website. Original price came to $2011 - $750 off Coupon - 12% Silver Bundle EPP Student Discount - 2% Dell Preferred Account Discount (tricky little bugger) + a $100 mail in rebate for a GRAND TOTAL OF $1091 - $100 mail in rebate = $991 + tax and free shipping.
Over 50% off on an incredible laptop. Not bad huh? Let me know what you think.

Very nice.

can i ask how you got the 12% and the 2% discount?
-
The 12% is a discount you get when you upgrade to a better warranty in EPP only. Ultimately it costs more than the standard warranty but if you want the warranty anyway, you get 12% instead of 6%.
What I want to know is where he got the $100 mail-in.
Also, I assume that all the other specs are standard? (Core Duo T2300, standard battery, no add-ons) -
Oh... I see now. The mail-in rebate comes with the Silver Bundle as well.

Metamorphical Good computer user
Good job on the deal.

I would have gotten a higher screen resolution. I don't know what WXGA looks like on a 17" monitor. The icons must be enormous but then again, I had a 15.4" WUXGA.
-
Great Deal! Tell me how it goes when you get it
I coulda gotten one just like that.. only problem was the wait time... Shipping out late june.. *sigh*
-
I never seem to get those EPP coupons for 750 off!! Anyone know where to find one or have one?
-
Dang a 12% EEP discount. You did very well! The only thing you missed out is an additional 3% off. Using fatwallet.
-
Hey.. Just got back from Vegas. The 12% was the Silver warranty bundle discount through EPP. the additional 2% was a pain to get online, but I finally figured it out. The $100 mail in rebate was included with the Silver bundle (You can get $200 with the Platinum one).
I've heard they have started shipping and their isn't a delay on it, so I'm not too concerned about it. I don't mind waiting.
All of the other options are standard (I think I can't remember). I could have gotten the higher resolution screen for a little more, but I'm not sure if it matter too much to me. Was there any other discounts that I missed and/or could have used? Let me know Thanks
