Not bad, but you could’ve done better with a Vostro 1000 (same as E1501, but black).

At the moment a V1000 with TK-53 (1.7GHz/512KB), 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD and a DVD Writer is around $599 before tax (without coupons or discounts).

Hmm, I didn't see that, I'm not a noob when it comes to dell, you gotta play around with everything, but I never go into to biz section of anything, since they don't give them free shipping, I got free next day shipping with this one, :).
But I rather have more cpu power & silverish then black with more ram & hdd space. I can also upgrade my ram cheaply so that isn't it (if I needed it), and I don't really need 120GB HDD since most likely I'll be saving all my music/movies on my server/pc since the more you use up on the HDD the slower it is (is this true with bigger HDD or the just the %size of you use of it?). Thanks for the reply :)

Edit: Also mine came with a 9cell battery so more battery life. :)
    Edit #2:
    Shipping Method: Next Business Day
    Est. Ship Date: 1/4/2008
    Est. Delivery Date: 1/7/2008
    Carrier: Not Shipped
    Tracking Number: Not Shipped

    That sucks :|

Yes, you can upgrade RAM at a very low cost these days.

Pretty good. I've seen the 1501 in person (one of my school teachers has it), and it's not that bad of a machine.
