I have an E1505 with a 1.83GHz Duo Core (Yonah) CPU, but the little sticker on my computer just says Intel Centrino - no mobile technolgy, no mention of being a Core Duo. Did I get the wrong sticker, the wrong CPU (nah...), or is that the right sticker?

Some stickers say "Intel Centrino" and then some say "Intel Centrino Duo"(thats how it is).

Centrino designation is dependant on the components that are within the notebook, you should of gotten the Duo sticker, but it seems not.

I think you can find out if you go to

    start-->right click "My Computer"--> Properties

It should tell you what processor you have

I'm thinking I definitely got the wrong sticker...

EDIT: Though why is it everything says it's 1.83 GHz, but with RightMark and CPU-Z my Core Speed is always in the 998 MHz range? Is my Duo Core not working as a Duo Core?

You guys didnt get the wrong stickers. Centrino Duo means you have a Core duo processor, along with an Intel wireless card. Its like a teaming up of the two that make a set called Centrino. I have a core duo and an intel wireless card and I have the centrino duo sticker. Dont worry about it, its the right one.

Yeah you guys definitley got the wrong stickers, I have an Inspiron 6400 with a Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83Ghz with a Centrino Duo sticker. While you guys just have a Centrino sticker that's usually used on Core Solo notebooks.

You could give Dell a call and see if u can get those stickers mailed out to you or call Intel themselves, won't be much of a problem. You could just say that it's for future reasons like if you ever need to sell it and someone points it out, etc.

I spose it's fine for now... I'll have this computer for an awful long time. But at least getting the wrong sticker put on correctly is better than what happened to a friend of mine. She bought a Core Solo computer and they put the Intel Centrio Core Solo sticker on really askew, so that it looked like rubbish next to the Designed for XP sticker!

@loesjoel - looks like the right sticker to me. You have a Yonah proc + Intel Wi-Fi + Intel chipset. That's the sticker you want - Centrino Duo.

Don't worry too much about the rigth sticker, my "windows xp" sticker is already off my laptop nad it's no teven four months old. I don't wait for my "core duo" sticker to stay too much longer!

if you took the SS when you didn't have the computer plugged in that's one reason. might want to check your power settings. windows is probably underclocking your CPU to save battery

You'll get "centrino duo" sticker if you use intel wireless. If you get DELL wireless, the sticker should be "core duo".

You should have "Duo" either way.

What I am thinking that the chassis is a inspiron 6000/6400, back when it was pentium m. They added the windows sticker. And yes, for it to be "centrino" at all, you need the intel wireless card.

Fight for the correct sticker!!! Request it shipped to you!!! :)

Under the portable or max bettary power settings, i notice that my processor is always underclocked to 1ghz. Does it was operate at this frequency or does it automatically clock itself back up if needed?

Its a good thing. Saves power and helps reduce heat (a bit). When your computer needs it, it will clock back up. Its called stepping (in intel terms).

They probably just accidently stuck a sticker from a Core Solo machine onto it by accident or before you ordered it with the Core Duo. But why bother with all that sending it back and getting Dell to fix it? It may or may not last, IDK. The stickers on my C640 didn't come off until I took them off when it was four years old. But seriously, if you have the Core Duo and the Intel card as you requested, why worry about it? It's just a sticker.

I take my stickers off as soon as I know I'm gonna keep the notebook. To me they're just part of the packaging. Sometimes I curse a little because they aren't always easy to get off though....

the longer they are stuck, they will leave a noticable footprint when they eventually get ripped off or peeled off. IF you dont love the sticker, then taking them off is a good thing.
