Mine didn't. The 1500 manual makes refers to it, but my order information specifically said w/o Roxio Creator. I didn't notice until I got the notebook.

You can order the CDs and they'll give you it for free.

It was an option you had to select when purchasing your Vostro, its in the optical drive section, and its an upgrade at the cost of $0.00 but its only software so like said you can just call them up and they will send you a copy of it.

I just fired off an email to customer service. The only CD that came with mine is the reinstallation CD. I wonder what else I'm missing.

    You should have recieved:

    Reinstallation CD
    Dell Media Direct CD*
    Driver/Update CD
    Roxio Creater CD*

*You should have recieved your Dell Vostro 1500 w/ Roxio Creator & Dell Media Direct already installed. They just include a reinstallation CD for this program just in case something happens.

I am ordering the Vostro 1500 without Creator installed, because the reviews of Roxio products in general scare the heck out of me. Hopefully I still get the CD, if not I will call and ask for it in case I actaully decide I want to install later.

I didn't even see an automatic reply to my e-mail.
In the mean time, I had 2 DVD writters installed on my desktop (not Dell), and each came with a Nero 7 express CD. So that's what I installed on my 1500.

I'm not a fan at all of pre-installed software. I'm looking to get my second dell and I'm hoping they've gotten better from last time (I bought an Inspiron 700m at the beginning of 2005) with the amount of crap they pre-load onto my machine.

But I'm going to give Roxio a fair chance by asking you all if it's a good program. It's free, which doesn't hurt. Is it a free trial or is it a permanent software? What does it do? I've looked on the Roxio website but this is a Dell edition piece of software so I mean....

But yea, what's the verdict? I'm looking to get a Vostro 1400

edit: ****ing bad ass, it auto-linked V0str0 14oo, sweet
