    Difference between 1420 and 1520 inspiron battery life with 9 cell?

    Given the same processor and video card,
    how much better battery life can I expect with the 1420 over the 1520.
    I am referring to the 9 cell.

    With the exact same configuration, battery life would be very similar. Figure the larger screen in the 1520 takes away maybe 10-20 minutes.

    It depends on your usage profile and your setup. If you turn the screen to half bright, engage the power saver power plan to reduce processor speed, that sort of thing, you'll get up to and over 5 hours. If you turn the radios off and the screen all the way dark you'll easily be over 6 hours. If you have the screen full bright, the power plan to max performance, etc. you'll hit about 3 and a half hours.

    I'm not sure, but I think the OP was asking about the difference in battery life between the 1520 and 1420 with similar setups.

    yh i to need to know the difference. So will it only be 15-20 mins difference?

    The only difference between them is the screen, if EVERYTHING else is the same. A 1.3" diagonal screen size change will mean slightly more battery. Not much.
