I am looking at a 9300 to purchase and am trying to figure out the difference between the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 and the 2915 Centrino Mobile Technology. Tried looking in the "Help Me Choose" but that was no help. What is Centrino Mobile Technology...and is it worth the extra $25?
Thanks....Rando

The one that cost 25$ more is just like 2200 while 2915 has a/b/g and 2200 has b/g connection which doesnt really natter since not many places uses "a" conetion mainly "g" and some "b"
"g" is the standard connection for most home user ad office thats 54g Wireless.
"b" is the OLD standard thats on 11b
"a" Is the fastest I think but not many places ueses it right now plus it cost more I THINK. I rally dont know much bout"a" but all I know is its faster =P -
wireless a operates at 5 ghz, b/g operates at 2.4ghz.
less interference on the a, put performance is the same.

b and g go further than a though. Speed doesn't really matter unless you're transferring files around your network or are on of the lucky few with a Fiber Optic Internet connection.

I believe you will also find there is some kind of power saving magic with the Intel chip set. It only runs with the centrino.
