    Whats the difference between the 640m and the E1405?

    Same machine but different names. 640m is sold in Small bussines.

    yep, they are the same thing. 640m = e1405 = xps m140. renaming it to e1405 is a good thing. because this makes it an "inspiron" and not an "xps" and that means u can apply the awesome inspiron coupons out there =)

    Not to be too nitpicky, but it would be closer to "XPS M140 version 2" or something. :p

    The changes between the previous model and the current are significant enough to differentiate, I'd say.

    Yes they are: SATA drive, new wireless card interface, HD audio s/w, WXGA+ screen w/TrueLife, Centrino Duo, etc.
