    Hi!

I am about to order an XPS M1530.

    Specs:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T8100
15.4" Widescreen WXGA (1280x800) TFT Display with TrueLife(TM) (Might opt for a 1440x900)
    3GB (1 X 2 GB + 1 X 1 GB) 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
    250GB SATA Hard Drive
Hard Drive Partition, Primary Size 60GB in C Drive, Remainder in D Drive
    256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) 8600M GT
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio Software
    Dell(TM) Nylon Backpack
    Dell(TM) Premium Optical Mouse
    Dell Bluetooth Wireless Headset

As i was busy yesterday, I asked the rep to send an email with the quotation attached. He sent it and gave the price as Rs 62,347.86 inclusive of all taxes and taking into account all offers and discounts.

Today, I called their toll-free number and talked to another representative and he gave the final price of Rs 60,999.

So, I emailed the other person and told him that I was being offered this price which is way less than what he had offered. So, he just told me to go with the better offer.

What exactly is going on here? Why am I getting different prices on speaking with different people?

Now I feel that if I talk to a third person, I might get an even lower price :p

then a fourth person, then a fifth, and when does this end?

Truthfully, it never really does. You continually get told different prices, find different coupons, work a new angle. By the time your satisfied parts change and prices drop and you start the process all over again.

My advice is shop around, be thorough, and pull the trigger when other criteria such as delivery date dictate that you do.

There are two config for system, one having e-value code r540505 n other one r540507 with price of 45k n 52k respectively.
If you are choosing t8100 or higher and a 8600m gt then the later config always gives lesser price as compared to the other one(45k one)
It was just that the 2 sales persons customized from different config. :)

If I rebuild my system to the exact same specs I seem to get a 82 dollar discount after taxes and free 1 day shipping. Ohwell not going to delay a slow process for a little money
