    well to sum it up,

about a month ago, i accidentally kneeled on my laptop and cracked the screen on a inspiron 1525 15.4" monitor.... i powered it on and the dimmer worked properly on the screen but it was cracked...

i ended up replacing it with another unit from my older laptop (HP) if it matters keeping my inverter for the dell and the plugs etc.

after replacing i noticed the screen dimmer is not working properly.. its ok in low light situations.. like now when im typing.. but it will not go much brighter.. when holding the FN key and arrow up (to brighten or dim) it will go up very slightly in brightness, then back down in brightness on the next press of the up button.....

anyone have any idea on what i can do to fix this?? do i need a new screen maybe??? the replacement screen was working properly in the other laptop...

    thanks ahead
