The software for the m1530's UPEK Fingerprint Reader includes two items in the context menu whenever files are selected. They offer too "Add to new encrypted archive" and "Add to existing encrypted archive". (See attached picture if you don't know what I mean.)

I don't wish to use this feature, so how can I remove them from the context menu. I couldn't find any options in the fingerprint reader software. Anyone find a way of disabling it by chance?

Try downloading SysInternals (by Microsoft) AutoRuns and look for the ShellExtension that mentions it, and uncheck it (or back up that branch of the registry and delete any reference to t. Restart your computer, and if you don't like what you see, run AutoRuns again, and re-enable the ShellExtension entry.

I renamed farchns.dll (or .exe?) to farchns.bak (its in Program Files). The menu entry appears to be gone.

does that cause any other errors? or would it be better to open up that file and edit out the code where it attempts to add a context menu item? Also anyone know of a alternate software to use with the m1530 fingerprint reader?
