My Inspiron 1525 came with Vista Installed. I have replaced Vista with Windows 7 RC and after getting the appropriate drivers for it, all goes well.
I downloaded the Alps Windows 7 driver for the Touchpad from Dell -- couldn't find a Synapsis Windows 7 driver.

However, there is one annoying problem. I have set the Touchpad to be disabled when mouse is plugged in. When I don't have the mouse plugged in the Touchpad is enabled. Usually, Then, with no external mouse, I would like to have it disabled when I am doing something that requires a lot of continuous typing. I know how to disable/enable it by boring down through the control panel. Is there a way to assign a shortcut key on the keyboard to do the enabling or disabling? That way I wouldn't have to get out my drill and do the boring.

    Thank you.
