I've tried disabling the Intel 3945 ProSet software to reduce the number of processes running. However, everytime I reboot, the first thing that happens is that the Quickset software crashes and gives me the option to send the useless error report to Microsoft. Anyone have any thoughts? Reinstalling the ProSet software makes the problem go away.

I haven't tried that, but the best thing is uninstalling Proset. Don't uninstall the drivers though, just the proset.

My Intel wireless is disabled but no problems with Quickset. I cannot get the Proset software to accept new password so use zero config. I find that Quickset and Mediadirect far to fussy for the returns so now do without ;)

That's what I did and I have windows managing my wireless connection. It's just that doing that causes the Dell Quickset application to crash. I can live without Quickset but I kind of like having the volume bar and brightness bar show up on my screen when I make changes.

I think that did it. It now seems to be working.

    Thanks all for the help.

when I quit using intel proset, I had all kinds of trouble with my router, everytime I turned off or rebooted my laptop, every computer got booted off the network, and I had to manually reset the router, with proset, that never happens
