Just found this forum .. first post for me.

I have a Dell XPS M140 that is a few years old. I'm generally very pleased with all aspects of it, but one.

The display (while gorgeous for multimedia) has an oddity when browsing web sites. When I mouse over something that has a balloon pop up, the pop up is displayed with it's background being transparent. Which makes it VERY difficult to read the text. Also any greyed out area is almost impossible to view. I've been living with this as I don't use the notebook that often and just ignore it while browsing. But the extended warrenty on this thing is about to expire and I just now started worrying about it being some kind of defect.

I have (over the years) tried just about everything with no solution. Different browsers, graphics settings, drivers, browser graphic settings, screen resolutions, etc. I'm at my wits end.

Other than the balloon pop ups not displaying properly and the greyed out text being almost invisible, everything else works perfectly. I do video and photo editing and watch DVDs with it and all is perfect.

This seems to only happen while using a browser or displaying anything that has web-based like graphics (mouse over balloon pop up etc.)

Just want to make sure it isn't some kind of setting that I am not aware of before I send it in for repair.
