Or are they closed?
In other words, will they still be building my 1520 this weekend? or do they stop until monday?

Depends on where the factory is (if it's out of the US, for that matter, which in all likelihood, they are). If the new Dells are manufactured by Compal or Quanta, like I think they are, then it'll depend on PRC laws regarding weekend business, but probably they still manufacture on weekends, but don't put me up to it.

Doesn't matter really, the transport plane only operates on business days anyway

those poor souls getting paid on the cheap and working 24/7/365 on your lappies.

Doesn't feel like it with the m1330 shipping dates

actually "six days a week Dell charters a China Airlines 747 out of Taiwan and flies it from Penang to Nashville via Taipei. Each 747 leaves with 25,000 Dell notebooks that weigh altogether 110,000kg. It is the only 747 that ever lands in Nashville, except for Air Force One, when the president visits."

It might help if you cited it when you use a direct quote, stormchas4.

My D630 shipped on a Sunday and came from Nashville.

You guys have to wait for your laptops to be shipped to you by plane and/or truck? Lame. Mine got teleported to my bedroom yesterday. It even included a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Haagen-Dazs.

Mine came with a all-expenses paid trip to Vegas.

Technically Dell doesn't manufacture laptops on weekends. However, they do expedite orders by shipping laptops over 50% complete with trained ants working on it.

Lets put it this way... it doesnt matter if dell works on weekends.
Dell doesnt actually MAKE their own laptops. they require other people to make the parts and then they make a factory assemble it. then they CHARTER (not buy) a plane over here. which means you right off the bat have 5-7 companies that actually work with dell to make a product.
And even after that Fedex doesn't work on weekends.
