Huh, Truelife means a glossy screen?

In general, glossy screens are brighter, more vivid and often have a better colour contrast the matte screens which aren't as bright and often very dull. However, the glossy screen has glare, the matte screen can be(depending on user) more relaxing to look at for prolonged periods. Of course, it's all personal preference in the end.

Truelife does indeed mean a glossy screen. As far as determining whether or not you have that option, you'll have to go to dell's website. In general, Consumer grade notebooks such as the inspiron will have a glossy option while the business grade notebooks such as the latitudes won't.
