If not then you hae no idea what im talking about but if you do, PLEASE help lol.
I just got the SL1 Serato box and i hooked everything up calibrated the vinyl. Installed the Windows Driver for the SL1 box when it says new hardware found. I just get no sound or signal through to my mixer. I can play anything on my laptop and the sound will come out through the laptop speakers perfect. I looked into changing my sound option but there is no other option except "SigmaTel Audio" which is the default sound card. What am i doing wrong??

If you need help with issues about SSL go to: www.scratchlive.net and do a few searches in the forums, people are usually helpful.
Anyway I'll take a stab at helping you out since I'm pretty experienced with SSL.
First off, you shouldn't be hearing anything from your laptop, just your mixers output. Make sure your mixer is set to line, not phono, even though you are using vinyl it still a line signal coming from the SL1 box.
-As long as the 2 circles or "decks" are showing when you open Serato, it should be connecting with your SSL box just fine.
-Make sure you hooked all your cables up correctly and you plugged the "line out" into the "line" inputs on your mixer, and the "thru" inputs on SSL into your phono inputs on the mixer.
-Set one channel in absolute mode and make sure your playing the vinyl from the beginning, in absolute mode it plays the audio file from where the first track on a normal record would be, this is the mode I like using most of the time because it is the easiest for me to cue records.
Don't mess with your laptops soundcard options, that won't get SSL working.
When all else fails, read the instructions, if you don't have them you should be able to download them at www.scratchlive.net -
Thank you for the response sir, so far i double checked everything you said to check and it looks like everything is hooked up correctly, i dont have the thru inputs hooked up because i was under the impression that was only if you wanted to use regular vinyl. I can go down and get more rca cables though if needed.
Yes Two circle decks show up perfectly when playing and in setup mode, in both abs and rel mode the song and wave forms show up and play as normal just no sound comes from the SL1.
I also read the manual and posted on the ssl forums and still waiting on some help. Thank you sir im going to go over everything one more time. Question when you use your serato, does it say "Sigmatel Audio" as your sound card option under properties?? Or something else? -
PROBLEM SOLVEDNote to self not use brand new mixer until i get to know it better. Gain level knobs and transform switches were set incorrectly....On my old mixer Gain set to 0 meant sound was played at original sound level, on this new mixer gain knob or program level knob as it is labeled as set to 0 means no sound or signal at all...... Sorry guys thanks for the responses.
Do any of you use SSL or Serato Scratch Live with your dell???
