Do recent Studio 14z's still have excessive keyboard flex?

Greetings - I have been trying to read thru the gazillion posts in the 14z owner's lounge - but there are too many! Anyways, I have decided to sell my ASUS G50Vt so I'm thinking about a Studio 14z. About the only drawback I can think of is several reviewers have commented that the keyboard flexes too much. I replaced the keyboard on my Studio 1555 with a backlit keyboard and it has a little bit of flex on the right side - but nothing to really complain about. Hopefully the newer Studio 14z's have been improved?? Any comments about this would be appreciated - TIA!!

I'll to find my build date (just got it thru Outlet) and this worried me too...

After removing the keyboard it's easy to see the problem in that the keyboard is a) flimsy and b) only secured by 2 screws, one to the right and one to the left leaving the middle area to "flex".

However, after some vigorous typing I had no issues with it. Now this may change after months of use or perhaps it only bothers those who really pound the keys, but for me it's not a problem. In fact, the more I type the more I love this keyboard. The slight flex/spring feels refreshing/light on my fingers.

PDS - Thanks for your reply and for checking into this. Do you have the backlit KB or regular? I noticed that the 1555 KB was pretty lightweight too when I replaced it. I wouldn't say flimsy - but it wasn't far from flimsy ... :(

I don't understand people who complain about the flex. There is no flex on my Sutio 14z, and I type a lot, approximately 3-4 hours a day, everyday. I have had my system for about 4 months now and am loving it.

Lexus - Your comment about no flex is good news to me. I am still peeved at Toshiba for the cr*p keyboard on my U405. Glossy keys and tons of flex - so understandably I didn't want to get burned again. The backlit KB on my 1555 has a small amount of non-irritating flex ... ;)
