I just requested PowerDVD, Windows, and dell apps cd from dell today. I thought you get these free? I just looked and it says it will cost 30 dollars for all 3.
Although on another order it just lists
PH904 kit,Compact Diskette,MTG3,M3 Inspiron $10.95
CC122 Kit,Compact Diskette,Sonic Digital Media,MYDVD,Low Encryption $10.95
but the order total comes out to 0$. im so confused. Is there a way i can cancel this, I dont want the discs if i need to pay for them.

I requested the CDs back in may, they show up as costing something but they dont charge you for them
-
They will not charge you. The amounts are there for inventory purposes.

Same thing happened to me. It'll show it was "paid" for by either Customer Service or Exchanges.

Is there a way to request discs if I just bought my laptop and haven't gotten it yet? I just noticed I am not getting media with my XP MCE 2005 and I want it cause I was going to format clean right as I got it.

You can try, however I think that Dell wants you to have possession first. If you do try to contact Dell, try using the chat feature. I think more users have had success via chat rather than phone.
I thought that all the new Dell computers were shipping with media now. -
Well it said its not included on the page that I ordered it on. No word either way in the confirmation e-mail. Maybe that was a misprint and I will actually get it. I guess I will have to wait, though I do like to format a computer my first day of using it but maybe I will wait this time and just uninstall stuff manually since I will be formatting late Jan/early Feb with Vista anyway.
Edit: Nevermind, I just found this "1 310-7149 Backup media for XP Media Center,Inspiron" its seperate from the OS which says no media is included. My bad.
Do requested cds cost anything?
