It really bothers me. I never type with greasy fingers, yet, overtime, the keys on my Vostro have turned shiny at a certain angle with my desktop light. I bought my Vostro only 2.5 months prior.
Since it's still under warranty, can I ask Dell for new keys so I can replace them myself? I know it seems ridiculous, but I am just a bit obsessive compulsive.

yeah i hate that... it so bothers me too. But i think that's inevitable...

You could always try using rubbing alcohol. That usually works for me.

Gee, my screen is a little dirty. Is that covered by warranty?
-
Ya just make sure your hands are clean. I use multi surface cleaner on it but after about a year if you want you can always buy a new set of keys from someone off ebay. I doubt Dell will give you a new set for oily keys altho it would be nice

Well its not really oils, its the matte finish wearing off of the keys. It's normal and happens on all laptops. it is also NOT covered under warranty because it is normal wear. You can buy a new keyboard off ebay and such, but it will do the same thing. All keyboard do this too, even desktop keyboards.
Do shiny/oily keys on the keyboard bother you?
