ive been looking into a laptop (like seriously) the last couple of weeks, and the $750 coupon has been up for quite some time now. you think it was just a way to get people to buy the laptop, hoping they can be one of the 4000 people? should i try and stress to my parents that i need the laptop now, or try and wait like a month or so?

Yes, they do, and are affected by time and how many people use them (Dell usually puts a cap on 4000 uses per coupon). The link Acolyte provided is good if you're considering the E1705 with the Nvidia 7800 Go.

Courtesy of the wonderful poster Knifes

Yeah, it still works with the E1705 considering I just tried it.
Just make sure you're using this code for the $750 "ZRFVGS97PK1F1?"

And also to note, you can also get $100 off with this code in addition to the 750 for the grand total of $850 off
    "43SHS371Z9M09R"

Try and see what do you have to lose?

Well like Acolyte posted in one of my previous posts there is $850 off of $2000+ specced Inspirons. Which effectively makes for a really nice system for a subtotal of around $1150 if its in your budget. And lets just say I've been checking every other day on dell for the past four to five months with all those crazy coupons dell's been giving out. And I must say, they're going all out with these low prices. I have never seen deal this good considering it fell in my perfect price range.

There's also supposed talk about dell retracting these fantastic rebates in the near.. very near future. But hey, who knows, if want to wait, then wait. It's either you're missing out on a great deal, waiting for a better one. As for me, even though I'm going to college in the fall, I pressed the trigger since in my opinion.. it doesn't get any better than this.

And if all else fails or I dun like my notebook in august... one word... ebay :p
    (I should be set though)

It's all speculation since it's quite rare to have a $750 coupon off of $2000+ system in the past. (It used to be $650 off of a 2000+ system about a a month ago) And to think dell's been running this deal for the a month in addition to another recent $100 off, one can only wonder how dell's marketing scheme is working.

But if you think about it logically... the summer/late summer months is when a lot of other students also buy laptops which can also raise up prices.

Its your call in the end whether you can get a better deal.
