I'm just looking for info on the 7200 drives that ship with the Studio 15. Could you tell me what size and brand hard drive your Studio shipped with. Is it noisy, produces too much heat etc? I along with other users would like to know. Thank you.

    Studio 1537
    250 GB
    7200 RPM
    Hitachi HTS723225L9A362
    SATA Interface

I like the drive, especially compared to my 4200 RPM, PATA 10GB HDD on my old Dell Inspiron 4000.
It does make the left palmrest feel warmer than the right one, but it doesn't bother me.
Should have gotten that SSD... :D

That's not unique to the 7200RPM drives. I have the standard 5400RPM, and my left palmrest gets unbearably hot at times.

I also have the Hitachi 7200 RPM drive - it is very quiet and provides high performance data access times ;)

The other key benefit is the free fall sensor that will detect G forces and retract the read/write heads to protect your stored data - this feature is worth its weight in Gold :)

Right, I forgot about the free-fall sensor, that is a plus.

Hmm, so regardless of the rpm the palmrest still runs hot
