I heard that there was a sale like this off the vostro series. Something like $500 off. Do you think they will do that again? I am looking specifically at the Vostro 1700. Thanks.

I bought my Vostro 1700 at the first of the month with the $500 off. I also saw $500 off on the Vostro around mid-February so maybe every month and a half or so?

Great choice, btw. It's a fantastic computer.

They run very similar deals in usually 2-4 week cycles, so wait a bit and you will get the coupon code. techbargains.com is a good source for seeing new codes.

I think so too. how heavy is the 1700? I have a Vostro 1500 and I can't even keep it on my legs for more then 30 minutes or they hurt...

The Vostro 1700 is definitely heavier than the HP DV9700T. I like the durable feel but I wouldn't want to carry it around all day. I have to admit, there's a part of me that loves picking up a laptop that doesn't feel like it's going to break in my hands. I'm naturally clumsy so I need this sense of security for my own peace of mind.

I actually heard a fan kick on for the first time today. I've never heard it before and it was so quiet I started looking down the hall to see what was going on because I thought it was off in the distance!

Does NBR post vostro coupons in the dell coupon section? I'm only asking because I see only inspirons and XPSes there now.
