I'm wanting to hook up a monitor to use at the office with a wireless mouse and keyboard and was going to best buy to get them, but didn't know if there was a way to hook them up to my D830 without the docking station??

Or if there is a generic docking station I can get locally?

    Thanks in advance..

You can get a USB docking station, however the video output is less than desirable. It work, just not exceptionally well.

i wasn't sure if I could just hook the monitor right into the back of my laptop.

and run the wireless mouse/keyboard from a usb connection hookup.

    jmgilliam--

You can just hook up the monitor and the wireless keyboard directly to your laptop. It's not as convenient as having a docking station, but it's certainly possible.

Also, FYI you can usually find docking stations for dell latitudes on e-bay for significantly less money than dell wants for them.
