    Does Dell actually make its estimated ship times?

    Hi everrybody,

    I ordered my XPS 1530 sometime ago. My current order status is displayed as follows:
    Order Date: 4/18/08
    Production Date: 4/18/2008
    Estimated Delivery Date is:4/28/08

    In terms of the process indicators, the following steps have the green check mark (i.e. indicating that stage is complete): Order Processing and Pre-Production. The current stage (with a green arrow indicator) is "In Production."

    A few days ago, the estimated ship date change to "4/29/08" but then this changed back to "4/28/08."

    What do you think? Will I actually receive the machine tomorrow? I have not received any shipping information of any kind yet? Should I call Dell to get an update?

    They do have this habit of changing the dates.I hope they send it to you faster :)

    You should've had a call if they were delivering it tomorrow although if the shipping company don't work weekends then it's possible ou could be getting it then.

    Do you have a tracking number for the delivery company, that should tell you online.

    @darren185: phase 4 is testing, phase 5 is boxing, phase 6 is shipping :)


    anyway, my estimated ship date was 4/30 but it was shipped out today :D

    Ok cheers, I edited the post because i realised it was no use to the original poster......here it is again so the quote above makes more sense.

    After messing around at the beginning of the week with cancelled orders my order was finally put in on the 25th and I had the confirmation E-Mail for the M1730 order 4pm that day.

    As of tonight it's in the shipping stage, so it's been a grand total of 2 days to go through

    Phase 1 - Processing
    Phase 2 - Pre-Production
    Phase 3 - Production
    Phase 4 - Whatever step 4 is
    Phase 5 - Shipping

    :( well yeah but heres the thing they use a company called dhl let me tell ya dhl sucks hardcore theyre customer support is ****, they rerouted my order like 2 or 3 times and were real jerks about it my laptop traveled literally round the usa before i recived it horrible service if i order through dell again i will order ups or fed-ex trust me its worth it but all -in - alll i did recive it on time so id say you should get it on time but, with dhl dont expect it one day early nor dont rely on dhls cusstomer supprot number :mad:

    Well, the Dell website still displays, "
    Estimated Delivery Date is:4/28/08." Clearly that is incorrect. I have not yet got an update on when the delivery is supposed to happen.

    When I talked to Dell, they said they would ship with Purolator rather than DHL, for Canadian customers. I'm going to be calling every day until I get a tracking number.

    When I called Dell today, they are now giving me JUNE 2 as the estimated delivery date and will not even tell me why.

    I also dont have a tracking number. Did you manage to get one? Did you just call Purolater?

    Just call up dell (or online chat) and ask them for your tracking number. They will gladly tell you if you give em your info.

    in my case, when i ordered my 1525 on the 4/14, they gave me a shipping date of 5/12. the date it was shipped was 4/25. it all depends on the components you ordered. something could be out of stock.

    Dell will not give me a tracking number as the machine is not yet finished. The part about this that is really frustrating is that they will not tell me - i.e. which part is missing/on back order.

    Willhelm - I can finally answer your question of whether they make the Estimated shipping Date today...as I'm suppose to receive it today!
