Does Dell ever offer discounts on their new products? (Like the new XPS 15?)

    Hi!
I just wanted to ask, does Dell ever announce discounts on newly launched models? I have been looking forward to buy the new XPS 15 that came out about a month ago, but I wasn't sure if I should wait until the upcoming holiday sales seasons like black friday or christmas to see if Dell offers any deals.
Same question goes for Microsoft store. I've seen them selling two configs of XPS 15, although the $1,699 seem to be out of stock at the moment, and I might purchase it from their website if Dell refuses to go on sale.
Dell is so stingy in terms of discounts...and their customer service is pretty bad as well..but I just can't resist to purchase this one!

If you chat, you can usually increase the discount over what is offered.

Just chat or call them. Save your config in your cart and then they can see it. If you have a dollar amount in mind, tell them that or just ask for any discounts that can be applied. Dell in the US also offers 5-10% back in rewards you can use at Dell.

If you can wait a month or so you will find them in the outlet for a nice discount with the same warranty.

Sounds awesome. How long does it usually take for products to be listed on the Dell outlet website?

I should definitely do that. How much discount do they usually offer when I chat with them?

Usually 6 to 8 weeks. Given the number of issues people are complaining about in the forums, you might see a number of them!

I got a 70 dollar discount on my selected flavor of 9550 because Dell ran the !@%$ out of them and now I have to wait till Feb. so yeah...there is that. First they offered me 40$, so I threaten to cancel and they upped it to 70. So the moral of the story is never accept their first lowball offer.

Or ask for a warranty extension of a year or two. Worth more than $40-70 IMO

typically a rep can only give you 2%-4% off your order. apparently the "employee discount" is 4%. and seeing how we just ended the sale season ($400 off XPS, plus 13% ebates, plus 5% Dell loyalty), it might be a while before another "official" sale.

This is my first post but I'm definitely back in the market for a new laptop and I'm looking at this new XPS 15 9550 model. I have an ancient XPS 14 (L401x) which was from 2011 with an i5-560m and 420m GPU. I'm looking at the i5-6300HQ and 960m model for my next upgrade. This laptop looks to be pretty incredible for its size and performance. I'm definitely on the lookout to find a good deal on one of these. I missed the $500 Alienware and XPS sale because they didn't have any in stock that qualified and their sales office was closed on the weekend. I tried the chat and I got a i7-6700HQ model down to $1030 from the outlet store, just sitting on that. I'd love to get this down in the $800-900 ballpark range but I dunno when that'll happen since its brand new.

Please post discount codes or any sales that you might see for the XPS 15. I'm definitely in the market for a new one and I'm trying to snag a good deal.

Also, planning on repasting the CPU and GPU with some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra once I get it. I'll be careful and use some fingernail polish on the circuits close to it to prevent any contact. Should be an awesome fit for some great performance. I have yet to see someone use CLU or CLP in a laptop...

I bought mine from eBay when they had 10% off up to $100 coupon and also no tax which helps a lot. Paid $1950 shipped for brand new XPS 15 w/ 4K display and 1TB SSD. Also soon after I purchased mine I started seeing bunch of refurbs with 1 year next business day warrant for ~$1750 for the 4K display and 1TB SSD & ~$1600 for 4k with 512GB SSD on eBay.
