    Does Dell only use Intel?

    I haven't been able to find an Athlon 64 Dell notebook. Are there any? How would you reccomend them against not-so-known competitors? Athlon 64 and Radeon 9800 don't appear together, either.

    That is a true statement, Dell only uses Intel chips. There's always rumors that Dell might start using AMD (which would be huge for AMD) but as far as we know for the forseeable future this will not happen.

    Yeah, Dell is the only one with the 9800 right now, so there is not an AMD option. I don't see them offering AMD chips any time soon. The multi-processor options would just confuse most of their buyers.

    Dell gets special bulk deals on intel's processors. If they offerred AMD, that would mean more inventory, and higher overall costs.
