Does Dell ship on Saturdays?

Just wondering if it's even worth wasting 20 phone calls to the 1-800 # to check order status if they don't

Seriously, I feel like a friggin' crackhead calling that # every five minutes....

 

I wonder about Monday too. I know it's Labor Day here in the US, but probably not considered a holiday in whatever country the computers ship from...right?

 

dell only ships on saturdays or on monday if the courier company taking you package is working on those days.if purolator, they will ship on saturday, but i guess not monday.i dont know about dhl

 

If you are in the US and your order is currently in boxing - it probably won't ship until Tuesday.

While the laptops are built in Malaysia, part of the boxing stage is bringing the laptop to whatever country the buyer lives in. This probably isn't held up by weekends or holidays... but when it arrives in the right country it stays in boxing until it ships.

And at that point it's dependent on whether the shipping companies (DHL in the US, I think) pick up on weekends and/or holidays.

I haven't looked, but I'm guessing DHL isn't doing a pick up on Saturday... which means the laptop will probably stay in boxing status until normal DHL pickup on Tuesday.

It's not like the overnight shipping is coming from Malaysia to you (which would be spendy and probably not free), it's coming from somewhere within your country.

 

Your order status can change to "shipped" on a saturday. At least my boyfriends order did. But it wont actually ship until tuesday.

 

Mine changed to shipped as well...Hope it is actually shipped!

 

also, if the shipping company didnt send trucks to get the laptopbecause they are not working that day, where are the laptops gonna go?they cant be shipped until the courier is ready to take it

 

Even if you're laptop has all ready shipped you wouldn't be getting it in the US before Tuesday. My laptop shipped on Friday, and I know I won't be getting it sooner because of the holiday.

And I hate DHL- it seems like so many people here live right near one- well, the closest one to me is in another state and about an hour away. Why don't they use UPS?

 

Dell's order status will show "shipped" as soon as they notify the carrier with the pickup (that's when they generate the tracking number too). Of course, if you put that tracking number into the carrier's tracking, it'll say something like pickup request received or something to that effect. That doesn't mean the package is getting picked up on the same day.

Well, I called this morning at 7:00 and I was still in boxing.... my poor lappy must be getting claustrophobic after being in boxing since wed.... I just check the dell order status page and it says it shipped... so I call the # and it says it's been given to the carrier and will deliver the next business day but no tracking info.... I'm hoping for Tues....

 

Mine shipped yesterday and the tracking number on purolator says in transit to us, im sooo excited now!!

 

You'll get it Tuesday due to the holiday...
