I've Googled some of these already but I am unsure if I can turn any of the following off and get away with it.

    IAStorIcon.exe
    Apoint.exe
    SysTrayApp (sttray64.exe)
    nwiz.exe
    NvCplDaemon (RUNDLL32.exe)
    NvHotkey
    UseService (BCMDeviceAndTaskStatusService.exe)
    msseces.exe
    TdmNotify.lnk

The rest I know about (I had a few more than what's listed here) but I'm not sure about these. Can anybody help?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
this is from Intel's storage drivers. If you don't need this application, it can be safely uninstalled.
Seems to be related to your touchpad. Alps perhaps?
    no idea.
From your VGA card. I'd leave it as is.
Something from Broadcom. Seems to be part of Dell Control Point software.
    Microsoft Security Essentials.
    no idea here.

    nVidia Hotkey Service – NVHOTKEY.DLL

Nvhotkey.dll installs with your nVidia video card. It loads the nVidia ForceWare Hotkey service. This service checks for and downloads/installs software and driver updates. More information and the latest version can be found at WinXP/2k 32-bit - (81.98). You may see this file listed as rundll32.exe nvHotkey.dll,Start.

    nVida nView Wizard - NWIZ.EXE

Nwiz.exe is the nVidia nView Wizard that installs with the drivers for recent nVidia graphics cards (starting with their 2002 models). NVIDIA nView multi-display software comes bundled with NVIDIA ForceWare desktop, workstation, mobile, platform, and multimedia software solutions.

This program is used to save your custom video settings so they can be re-applied the next time you reboot your system. This program adds functionality we believe to be worthwhile. A few of the available features include creating up to 32 virtual desktops, creating desktops larger than your screen size, zooming, and supporting dual monitors on Desktop and Laptop systems. You can learn more about nView Multi-Display Technology at NVIEW Desktop Management Software for Quadro. You can learn more about features and considerations for Windows Vista users at Features & Benefits. For detailed specifications, visit nView Specifications. Finally, you'll find the scoop on nVidia ForceWare at http://www.nvidia.com/page/forceware_geforce.html.

The reason I ask all this is that it's taking almost 90 seconds to boot into Windows and I suspect these programs I've listed have something to do with it.

Start the system with minimum services using a registry tweaking tool. It's probably because of too many services running at startup. You can disable them or set them to start manually, will take you some time though if you choose to do it manually.

The article linked above might help you out but run performance troubleshoot from control panel before you fiddle with services.
