I am tired of the run around. Not that the people don't try but the services are always in some other country. I can not stand it trying to talk to them it is less than dedirable. I also can never get the stupid chat to talk to someone. It is always busy.

Well, seeing as both of your Dell's in your sig have non-bad smilies next to them, what "run around" are you referring to?

I know what you mean. I have a Dell XPS Inspiron Gen 1 and I'm about to throw it out the window. It's been performing very slowly for the past couple of months, even after a clean install. I called Dell and was transferred to somebody in India I believe. I COULD NOT understand what the hell he was saying to me. Anyways, after about 5 hours on the phone, they didn't end up helping me. And because I was out of warranty, I had to pay them around $150 for even speaking to them despite the fact that they couldn't solve my computer's problem.

On the positive side, I just bought a new notebook, an Asus F3JP. Hopefully, I will have a better experience than with my Dell. I'm never getting a Dell again.

I actually believe the escallated complaint line is [email protected]. It's not his email address, but it can't hurt to complain like crazy there. They pretty much assume if you email there that you are at the end of your rope...

    Read this on another forum:

[email protected] is just an empy email address that will reply with an automatic response.

Hie real email address is [email protected]. Not saying he will ever respond to anything you send him but that is his real email address.

WackyT I fixed it just for you.
My first XPS GEN 1 is great my dad now uses it all day every day. But I am tired of the India people trying to talk to me or me to them. I am tired of not getting through the phone lines. I am tired of chat always busy. My 1705 cost all together with the extra purchases and fixes and replacement parts over $4k. Yes I fixed them yes I changed parts I had to talking to those Indians was crazy. I bought the parts some from Dell some from other places bought new software and it now runs pretty good. So I got another XPS the computer is good but service SUX!!!

Markbart I gave my Asus to my wife because it was the only one I trusted for her shcool work. So go boy. I am about to be in the same boat no more Dells. This is the final chance they get. :(

I will send it to both!!! Thanks gohanssjn

If he knew how much business he lost this year he might care then again maybe not.

Unfortunately that may be why he does not care any more or seems not to. But there was a company that did that and now they are owned by China. IBM........ (unless I am mistaken and I may be)

Well, I heard that after HP outsold Dell during the holidays, Michael Dell fired a bunch of employees or something. It doesn't seem like things are going too well for Dell. They even have a website for people to help them implement new ideas into their computers.

markbart That doesn't surprise me that HP out sold them. Where is that website? I will tell them what I would like them to know.

markbat there are some good retailers for Asus on the Asus forum. Very helpful. My W3J took forever because everyone was buying them. I feel bad for you. I do not know that model but mine has been more than impressive.

Does anyone make a computer the size of the M1210 with onboard 256MB on the vdeo card.
I understood that I just mean they could help if there is a big problem. I got a 2.16 core duo installed on mine. They did it before shipping all mine came with was I think a 1.83.

[email protected] is the address for complaints, not for problem solving though. However, if your problem is really serious and your laptop is still under warranty, they may ask Hardware support to exchange your system.

My problem is I like the laptop pretty well. But when I have a problem 8-12 hours on phone and e-mail and chat is too much. That is BS to be on hold for 2 to 3 hours. Then to talk to someone who is not talking to you correctly or understandable. Yes it was 6 hours one day 2 hours another day and 4 more at different times with chat working only once.

I've been spending over 10 hours per week with Dell tech support in the last few weeks and I have been through 3 mobo replacement, 1 optical drive replacement and 2 speakers replacements. I got really frustrated too.

But my advice based on my experiences is that, if you try to be more patient and nice to them, they will serve you better.

I am nice to them but they just need to speak better and for that matter so do I. I understand patience but I am not as forgiving as you that is my time they are using and I have many other things to do than sit holding a phone to my head. Sorry for all your troubles if that is the case for XPS now I am sending this back. I really never had this problem with the first gen XPS. 5-30 minutes was all. If I sat on the phone as long as you I would have driven across the state and talked to them in person.

You are misunderstanding. I needed to get some questions answered and I tried for 6 hours nothing not even a person on the phone chat would not work. That happened two days in a row. Then Igot someone who could answer me and knew what was going on. I went through this with THE E1705 it had problems from the start. I never could get to someone for help. I just needed to get another reliable computer so I got another brand. I needed to give my wife a reliable computer I gave it to her. I decided to try an XPS from Dell. My first gen never had any problems never a single time did I call that I waited more than 30 minutes those were questions also. I got someone on the other end that understood what I was talking about it got resolved. Not so with my E1705 ever. I tried again to call for some minor questions with the M1210 same problems as the 1705 only worse. Long waits on the phone never talked to anyone once I finally got to someone they could not speak english well or communicate well. I paid more money and got a better computer but I also am supposed to get better service. I am sick and tired of this send me to another country where they speak some foreign language crap. Nothing is wrong with the computer but if I need help I want to be helped not screwed around. Or have to reformat because they installed something they should not have. That has happened with this M1210 but I fixed it thank god. When I pay for service as high as it is I want service that is my only problem. No hard feelings no bad feelings. Just do not try to hook me up to someone who does something because they can't understand what I need so they do it wrong. That is it. By the way is there a problem with Americans helping Americans at an American company? Or is that just not PC?

    Yes, dell's CS Blows
When my Xps m170's motherboard died 15 days after my warranty expired and 1 year and 15 days after i bought it for $3500 i had to call out of warranty repair, and sent it to them, they told all kinds of storys before send it back to me, they say what even it is you wanna hear to get you off the phone so you call them the next day they say somethign diferent .
I even thought about going to Dell's building and start to drop and kick my laptop in front of its front door if it was on the east coast .
    Now i sold my m170 and im buying a m1710 and one thing is for sure i will get the 4 years warranty and after the 4 years i will get 4 more years ! =}

Dell is an international company, not just American. And, when you were considering your laptop purchase, was price a consideration factor?

If you want to get right down to it they are a Texas company started by MICHAEL DELL at UT Austin in his dorm room. So I do not want to hear any more of that international that is fine service them in their country. Service mine in Texas. Believe me I do not know everything about Dell but I know enough. He would be nooooo where without Texas then the USA. Honk your horn somewhere else. I went in with no concept of little or large amounts of money I went in for the best service and computer. Fusk4 you want me to take your m170 and throw it at them? LOL I could very easily do that for you.
    :D :D :D :D
