    Does anyone have a m1210 that doens't make the high pitch noise?

    Hi there, I am just wondering whether if any of xps m1210 users here do not have the high pitched noise problem. The reason i am asking this is because I am getting a replacement unit soon, and I just wonder if all m1210 has that problem or only the minority has this problem. thank you in advance.

    Did you expect a flood of replies in the two hours you posted your thread? Anyways, my m1210 doesn't emit a high pitch sound.

    The first one I got had that annoying noise, along with a terrible screen. So I had Dell sent me a replacement. Now with this new one, the noise is much less noticeable. Sometimes I really have to put my ear close to the left hand side of the notebook to hear it.
    so the noise is still there, but it doesn't bother me any more.

    Mine gets a buzz every now and again, but not often. Only when I'm doing particularly video intensive work.

    I have the high pitched noise and it greatly annoyed me. I cant find the thread but I made a thread talking about this noise. However, you get used to the sound and I dont even notice it now. Just give it time and you will not notice it after a while.

    I bought mine used from Ebay in Jan and it doesn't make any noises. The only noise that drives me nuts is from the cooler fan it's sitting on.

    I only hear some noise when the write data icon blinks (the middle icon at the bottom right of the screen).

    Other than that, its pretty quiet.
