Thinking about getting one of these myself.

I'm curious to know how they perform when it comes to blu-ray rips playback or streaming video over wifi. Is there any lag or video stutter? Will this thing be able to handle playing an 11GB blu-ray rip over wifi to other network computers?

Thanks! Not sure how to gauge the power of the processors these systems come with so I'm hoping to get advice here. Appreciate the help!

Would it be playing the blu ray or serving the bluray? Probably one or two streams is all you're going to get simultaneously going through the same wireless access point / router. Second issue would be the hard drive and its ability to keep up with it ... if it's a 5400rpm laptop unit it might not be able to hold up.

Edit: Just looked at it on Dell's site. One model is available with AMD Neo - that's a netbook processor. It could play HD depending on how well the HD3200 is at HD. Have you thought about building your own mini computer that might be a bit more powerful?

They look pretty neat! Would do just fine as a HTPC, but not much more.

I had one a little while ago. The most basic config with the single core 1.8ghz CPU and 3200 video. It played Bluray flawlessly, via a BD drive plugged in the eSATA port or streamed thru my wireless N network.

Don't buy into the hype that you need the most power CPU and video card just to play 1080p.

PS the hard drive in the Zino HD is a full blown 3.5" drive, not that any modern hard drive will ever be a bottleneck simply playing 1080p, even a 2.5" 5400 drive.
