Surprisingly the driver from Gateway's website doesn't work. There is no sound despite the driver being properly installed and the fact that volume is set to 100%. I don't think there is a button that disables the sound so I'm just thinking that maybe it's just a botched driver. Does anyone here have a driver for the Sigmatel 9200 audio chip? It's HD-compliant (azalia) though it's only 2 channel.

I have nearly same problem with SigmaTel 9200 on my DELL Inspiron 6400. For my system, the sound is working but WMP and Media Centre cannot play MP3 caused by mal-function of SigmaTel HD Audio.
