If something breaks, and you are out of warranty, can you still buy the parts you need from dell?

And if you can are they overly expensive? Like how much would it be for a new keyboard or LCD?

Yes, Dell does have a spare parts which you can order from whether your warranty is out of date or not.

Generally, most dell parts are offered online at several 3rd party stores, so I would suggest looking there first. I found a replacement keyboard for 22 which normally costs around 50 I think from Dell.

The LCD at dell depends on what type (glossy/matte) and size. 17in glossy screen is around $500.

I'd like to give an honorable mention to Ebay.

Dell Spare Parts is pretty useful for the more obscure stuff like wrist rests, bezels, screws etc. Sometimes there prices are really good on other stuff to but yeah compare to E-Bay/Froogle what have you first.

Come to think of it though there prices are heaps better than most companies spare parts division esp.... Sony :p
