Hey will Dell send me emails about my status progression, or do i have to check it manually everyday? Like If my laptop was shipped will they send me an email telling me they just shipped it?

On the website where you check your status there is an option with a box to check if you would like them to send you an email when your laptop ships.

They certainly send you an e-mail when your order gets pushed back a week :\ They said all of their monitors are back ordered. Here's a heads-up!

Dell just called me today and said my 1420 will be here on July 30 by 3PM and gave me a Fed X tracking number. Yesterday I called the 1800 status number and it said my order was in boxing stage.. which means it was on the jet over the pacific bound for the US Dell facility where they box and put cables etc.. and put on carrier. So I was wondering if the support agent was going to give me a call. My case may be different then yours being I spoke to a agent that offered free overnight shipping and expediting.
I really did not know they were really going to keep their word on free overnight shipping.. but Fed X no less!

My recommendation is to call the 1800 status number. The online status is worthless. Once your system goes into boxing you can call and probably get a tracking number. Don't assume they will call or email.
