    Does dell ship with current drivers?

    It should be obvious enough, however it's not to me. :eek:

    Dell's website shows recommended driver updates for the 1520 which I should receive in the next few days. It seems any systems configured after those dates would ship with the most current drivers and bios updates. True or false?

    False. They just chuck a 'generic to the model' disc image on there. One of the reasons why formatting is the wisest thing to do since the generic drivers on the image might not actually be best suited to the nuances of whatever hardware has actually been installed in the machine.

    I'd stock up on whatever they've got going whilst your waiting, and then when I received the machine, I'd format it with all the shiny new drivers.

    That way if you have a problem later on, you know you have a problem as the system is as up to date and optimized as it could possibly be.
