I havent gotten any calls from Dell since ordering. Maybe they just assume Im a push-over customer and will accept when my order ships?![]()
The only 1 call I got was when there was a screwup and my order didnt exist after a Dell salesperson placed it for me at a kiosk. My Dell preferred account was charged for an order they have no record of. A transcript of the call from a rep I got.
Rep: Im taking possession of your order right now, just one moment sir.
Me: Great! Can you pay the bill for it too since you're taking possession?
Rep: Im sorry, just one moment sir.
Me: That would be really nice, go ahead and change the name and billing address to yours! I knew employees would get priority and get these laptops before their customers. Part of testing right? Employee perks?
Rep: Im sorry, you wanted to change your address sir?
Me: Sure change it to yours, since you are now taking possession of my order and I no longer have it, you should recieve the bill too.
Rep: What is your address sir?
Me: Whats yours?
Rep: Im sorry sir?
Me: Dont apologize, I'll just order another one since you already took possession of mine. No wonder Ive been hearing about delays, there are so many reps taking possession of peoples orders.
Rep: Yes we do that for customer service and help our orders go faster. I have personally taken possession of your order sir.
Me: Wow thats really productive huh? So the order is going faster now?
Rep: Yes, anything else I can help you with sir?
Me: No thanks, so you have taken possession of my order?
Rep: Yes, Im looking at it right now sir.
Me: Great, thats it. It would have been really nice if I got it myself. But then it would be a long flight and drive for you to take possession and help me again right?
Rep: I have personally taken possession of your order to help you sir.
Me: I know thanks. Lots of help, glad Im not getting the bill anymore.
Rep: No you will not be getting billed anymore sir.
Me: Perfect, because you took possession? Does the red look sweeter in person?
Rep: Yes I have possession of your order right here. I dont see any red, just zero balance now sir. No previous orders sir.
Me: Great job! So there is no debit to me, are you going to get the bill instead? You took possession of my previous orders too?
Rep: Yes, I will take care of it sir.
Me: Can I send you my other bills too?
Rep: One moment, can you let me know an order number or account number sir?
Me: Yeah! This is great! Let me go get my car payments, electric bills, mortgage, hold on a second dont hang up on me! Now this is great customer service!
Rep: Im sorry sir, can I have a number in case we get disconnected so I can call you back sir?
Me: Sure! xxx-xxx-xxxx
Rep: Let me confirm xxx-xxx-xxxx?
Me: Yes make sure you call me back and all this is recorded in case there are any problems or if we are disconnected!
Rep: Yes, I call back if we are disconnected and our calls are recorded to provide you with better customer service sir.
Me: Here is an account number xx-xxxxxxxxxx.
Rep: Im sorry that is not a correct account number sir.
Me: Yes it is! Im looking at the bill right now! Its $376.51
Rep: let me try it again sir.
Me: Youre going to take possession of it right?
Rep: Yes sir.
By now I was laughing so hard out loud it was pointless to continue at the expense of this poor customer service rep. My girlfriend was listening on speaker phone and giggling away the entire time. I could barely control myself during the conversation.

Wow...
That is all I have to say. Just how/why did this call get started...because you were asking about the status of your laptop order?!? -
what just happened there...lol
-
You kind of sound like a shmuck. What did that customer service rep do to deserve you acting like that?
-
Wow, you took what could have possibly been a productive service call and turned it into a disaster by being a complete arse. Bravo.
-
and then we have people complaining that dell's customer service sucks!! indeed!!

yea...kinda a dick move eh? Its not his fault Dell is screwing you over..
It was hilarious though dont get me wrong -
wow..don't know why u did it..it is kinda funny though. anyways he was just trying to help.
-
Because as we all know, harassing the phones reps is the best way to get what you want. Basically all you did was make yourself look like an ass.
-
-
Wow such an arse! Shows just how much class you have.
-
lol funky convo
-
Can't beat customer service like that
-
The whole conversation started because I ordered a XPS M1330 and was charged for it. But Dell didnt acknowledge the order, didnt issue a order number, and didnt issue a customer number to show the order existed. However I was charged for it anyways.
The rep was calling me because I was billed for an order I placed, but according to Dell's CS and sales reps didnt exist. Yeah Im a total ass with no class giving someone a hard time for charging me $2,100+ for an order they cannot find. -
NO way!!! rofl that was to funny.
-
still an ass, it wasnt his fault, you could have asked to speak to someone higher up like a supervisor.
-
Lmfao, funny stuff!
-
they made a mistake and were trying to fix it for you? i dont really see the point for the convo or being real upset...maybe i was hoping the convo would be a little more entertaining.
-
I don't give a damn if he was an ass, I was laughing so hard I almost fell outta my chair. And every last one of you knows that you would of been chewing some Dell rep's arse if it happened to you, so quit trying to act all high and mighty. I am reppin ya for that one arch.
-
lol man.....
-
what exactly just happened?
-
long story short, he went to Dell Kiosk, purchased a notebook, dell charged him, but didn't have any showing of his order. He gave Dell rep crap over it, in a particularly amusing way. End of story.
-
How come I find it hard to believe this?
-
Fakey Fakerson you.
-
roflcopters.
-
That thought did go through my mind, but considering what I have went through with Dell, I believe him. When I had a order for a 1505, a rep called me to inform me that the nvidia card was no longer available and they needed to change my order to the ati card, which was a better card, so that was fine by me. But the thing was I wasn't home to get the call and after 3 hours on the phone and about 10 different reps, still no one knew what I was talking about when I called to make the change. Finally the rep just emailed me and we got it done that way. A week later I cancelled and ordered the 1520.
-
Mayor of Faketown = you.
-
Yeah, I half believe him. But the fact that he was talking the way a lot of prank callers and "phone jerks" talk makes me highly suspecious. Even if it is a real conversation he was simply trying to make fun of the Rep's innitial sentence the whole time. Instead of clearly asking about cancelled order he kept repeating the same line the phone rep said to make his girlfriend laugh.
-
Yeah... are you some kind of moron? If you had a serious problem like that, being falsely charged 2100 bucks, why would you play snarky phone games instead of just being serious and trying to get it fixed asap? If I were the rep, I would've just said **** it and hung up assuming it were some kind prank call.
-
That was a major bunghole stunt, but I've gotta admit I laughed my donkey off!!! That had to be a non-native English speaker at Dell; otherwise, a complete idiot.
However, OP, I don't see that could have done anything to resolve your $2k problem ... -
This isn't funny, it's stupid. Yeah, so Dell screws up your order and you abuse some random rep who calls you to fix it up to make yourself feel better? You're a real tough guy. The rep didn't charge your credit card, it wasn't even the same rep now was it, so yeah you're a total ass with no class for giving someone who calls you to fix up your order and give you your money back and take this crap from you a hard time.

Here is what lead up to this call which was posted in another thread:
Yes I admit I was being an ass, and at the expense of this rep. Because if I called yelling and cursing, and threatening to physically harm someone like I really wanted to, then they probably would have hung up on me. For me its better to take an amusing approach to calm my temper, rather than an all out verbal assault.
Does everyone get calls from Dell like this?
