how can I tell if my laptop (XPS M1530) has a blur ray player or just a normal dvd player?
-
It should show on the actual drive (in white). Also, you would have paid (A LOT) more money for it.
-
Well I bought a laptop and they sent a replacement, I'm just not sure what they changed in the replacement. Sorry, I don't understand when you say it'll show the drive in white?

Uhh, look at the drive door. Along with DVD, RW, and compact disc, you should have a Blu-Ray label.
-
There's no drive door on the 1530. It's a slot load.
-
Go to your start menu
Click on Control panel
Click on Device Manager
Click continue on the boxs that pops up
Click on DVD/CD-ROM drives
it should tell you if its a Blu-Ray player -
load a blu-ray disc and see what happens
-
i got blu ray on the 1530 and it doesnt show on the outside , you need to check the device manager, it will show somthing like this check this attachment.
