hello. My laptop dell inspiron 1440 uses ALPS technologies toucpad driver. But I want to use synaptics driver which has some new cool features like two and three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, glide, etc. Does it work in ma laptop? And if not, could u pls suggest any other alternatives which has the above mentioned features for ma laptop!

No, a Synaptics driver will not work on Alps hardware. Also, what OS are you running? Multi-touch only works on Windows 7 with touchpads specifically designed for it. If you are running Windows 7, have you tried the newest drivers from the Dell website? Drivers and Downloads
