I was wondering if upgrading to the 9cell battery will cause the battery to protrude underneath the laptop (inspiron 1405), since the standard battery is the 6-cell. I know this is the case for several other laptops. Is this the case for the 1405?

    Thanks a lot.

Yes, it does stick out. But it isn't uncomfortable to use, and does not lift the notebook up in any way. It just sticks out an inch from the back, so your bag has to be a little larger.

im a bit weary of 9 cell batteries that stick out from the laptop nowadays. my cousin brought one of those compal barebones laptop and its not even 9 months old and its already starting to act weird.

his battery sticks out a good inch from the back of the laptop. when he opted to get a laptop bag, he brought a messenger bag. in the end the connectors to the battery got loose or something so he has to use tape to keep the battery connected to the laptop at a certain angle in order for it to work.

i mean its a completely different laptop and brand, but I'm pretty sure that his problem stems from that 1 inch of battery sticking out and him being so rough with his laptop when hes carrying it around.
