If you rae just using your laptop with headphones and listening to the built in speakers, does the upgrade to the sound card help any? Is it worth the 25 bucks? I am not planning on ever plugging this thing into anything other than portable speakers and headphones, should I upgrade?

It's simply a software upgrade... I wouldn't recommend it. It does little or nothing. Some users have even uninstalled this $25 software.

It's not worth the upgrade . . the software adds a bunch of processes/services in order to run, which slows down your system. Better off staying with the default.
